FAQs
Which ‘Wonka’ film is this collection based on?
This officially licensed range is based entirely around the classic and nostalgic 1971 'Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory' film.
Why are Charlie and Grandpa Joe not included in the collection?
All illustrative assets were supplied by the licensor (Warner Bros) and were not able to be modified in any way creatively.
For this reason, some characters were not included (such as Charlie and Grandpa Joe) as the illustrations did not ultimately work in Erstwilder wearable art form. Additionally, some characters that do appear in the collection do not feature some of the details you might typically expect from Erstwilder designs (such as faces) out of respect for these licensing rules.
Why are the Oompa Loompa’s not part of this release?
We have chosen to omit Oompa Loompa’s from this range out of consideration for short-statured people, and due to the highly controversial background of these characters in the original story which are connected to themes of slavery and racism.
