Get crafty with your favourite Pete Cromer Fairy Tales pieces!
Ask and you shall receive! Many of our community members have been asking about the paper cut-out scenes featured on socials from our Pete Cromer Fairy Tales release, so Pete has kindly helped us make the scenes available to you to recreate at home.
Feeling crafty? Simply follow the steps below for your very own enchanted paper cut-out scenes!
What You Will Need
1. Access to a printer (PDF files) or Circut Machine (SVG files)
2. Good quality, thick paper. We recommend a different coloured paper for each layer. Please note that Pete used 12 x 12 Kaisercraft Colour Cardstock with his Cricut Machine, however if you're using scissors any paper from your local stationary or craft store should do the trick.
You will need a plain piece for the background, then a piece for each layer of the scene.
3. Sharp scissors or cutting tool (Pete recommends a scalpel).
4. Something to use as a block between each layer. Pete used 5mm foam board when creating his paper scenes.
Steps for Hand Cut Users (PDF)
1. Click the links below the picture of the design you want to create. Note that once you click these links, the files will automatically download onto your computer as a PDF. You will have to open the files and print each layer.
2. Print and cut out each layer. Remember that the goal is to have a hollow centre for the brooch to sit in. You can use the images below to help guide you through the cutting process.
3. Lay down a plain piece of paper in any colour to use as your background.
4. Place the layers in order of the file name you have downloaded. For example, Middle Layer goes on top of your background, then Top Layer is the last one you place. Don't forget to place a block between each layer to create the 3D effect!
5. Place your favourite brooch or wearable art piece in the centre, and don't forget to snap a picture and share with us on Instagram and Facebook!
Steps for Cricut Users (SVG)
