Because Reading is Magic! 📚✨
Our next release is something a little different, and something we are incredibly proud to be part of.
Many months ago, The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) reached out, asking if we can work together to help further their mission to enrich young lives through Australian stories. And boy, were we only too happy to oblige!
CBCA is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation that has been dedicated to celebrating and advocating for the transformational power of stories since 1945. They lead a number of wonderful initiatives, but they are noted for running Children’s Book Week® along with Australia’s most influential and respected children’s literature award — the CBCA Book of the Year Awards.
Each year, a theme is selected to promote reading culture, with an artist appointed to bring this theme to life visually across educational resources and merchandise. ‘Reading is Magic’ is the theme for 2024, and coincidentally, the winning artist was former Erstwilder illustrator Jess Racklyeft!
For this exclusive partnership, we’ve been given the honour of transforming Jess’ wonderful illustration into wearable art, coming together with CBCA to release an exclusive ‘Reading is Magic Brooch’.
Sold exclusively on ERSTWILDER.COM and the CBCA eStore, we’ll be proudly donating $5 from the sale of each piece back to they CBCA, supporting the important work they do.
Like all our designs, this piece is limited-run and collectable – once sold out, it won’t be coming back!
